7 Ways to Dress Up Your Hotdog
There’s nothing wrong with a classic all-beef hot dog with yellow mustard, but sometimes you wanna dress your dog to impress. So if you’re looking for a grown-up wiener with bold flavors, try adding some homemade toppings. And while your guests will freak over these condiments, let’s not forget that a great hot dog starts with 100 percent all-natural, species-specific meat. I’m personally a sucker for Pat LaFrieda’s Piedmontese beef hot dog.
For an extra flavor boost, whip up my favorite hot dog spice: mix together 8 ounces celery salt, 5 ounces celery seed, 2 ounces dry spearmint, 1 ounce piment d’espellette and 1/2 ounce fresh ground black pepper. Then lightly sprinkle the seasoning over your dog.
