Figs & Smoked Mozzarella Wrapped in Prosciutto

By Andrew Zimmern

Smoky, salty and sweet, these prosciutto-wrapped figs with smoked mozzarella are a perfectly balanced appetizer that only take a few minutes to throw together. They’re a great addition to a holiday spread and make for a classy upgrade to your game day finger foods.

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Remove the stems of the figs, and cut an incision through the top. Stuff the fig with a slice of smoked mozzarella. Wrap the stuffed fig in prosciutto.

Arrange the pieces in a baking dish, and drizzle with the olive oil and grappa. Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Bake for 10 minutes. Remove from the oven and place the prosciutto-wrapped figs on a platter. Sprinkle with the julienned basil.
