Russian Tea Cakes
- 1 cup butter or margarine, softened
- 1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 1/4 cup sifted flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup finely-chopped nuts
Yield: about 4 dozen
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Cream together butter, powdered sugar and vanilla.
Sift together flour and salt; stir into batter.
Mix in chopped nuts. Chill dough about 2 hours.
Roll into 1-inch balls.
Place on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 400 degrees until set, but not browned, about 10 to 12 minutes.
