Charred Broccolini
It doesn’t get much easier than this simple side dish of charred broccolini, a perfect accompaniment for fish, steak or chicken. I even love it in pasta topped with crunchy breadcrumbs.
Charred Broccolini Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 bunches broccolini or broccoli rabe
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Kosher salt
- Freshly ground black pepper
- Chile flakes, optional
- Lemon juice, optional
Instructions
Preheat a large cast iron skillet over high heat.
In a large mixing bowl, toss the broccolini with the olive oil and salt. Add to the hot skillet in an even layer. Cook, turning occasionally, until charred, about 8 to 10 minutes. Season with salt, pepper and chile flakes, as desired. Drizzle with lemon juice if using.
Alternatively, you can grill the broccolini over high direct heat until charred, or place it under your broiler.
