Lowry Hill Meats
When Erik Sather opened Lowry Hill Meats in the fall of 2015, let’s just say I was excited. There are less than a handful of great, old-world butcher shops in the Twin Cities, and LHM’s standard for every product they sell—from meat to eggs, cheese, spices and coffee—is exceptionally high. I always buy my meat from shop keepers who support local farmers and find a way to use every part of the animal, and Sather is one of those guys. The meat is infinitely better than anything you can buy at a big box supermarket, plus you get face time with the experts to request certain cuts or ask specific questions.
Beyond sourcing some of the freshest, most delicious meat from local farms, Sather has created a real food hub for Minneapolis. LHM offers exceptional sandwiches made with top of the line ingredients, from meatless options like the buttered radish with fresh, creamy butter from Hope Creamery, sea salt and spicy greens, to their Wednesday special LHM burger with house American cheese on a brioche bun. It’s our go-to sandwich spot for lunch at the office… order a bunch to share so you can try the whole line up. On the weekends, go pick up a pork shoulder or goat sausages for the grill and grab one of their breakfast sandwiches on homemade english muffins—trust me, it’ll become your new Sunday morning tradition.
