The Good Acre Food Hub Open House
Friday, October 30th
The mission of The Good Acre is to enhance how food is grown and shared in the Twin Cities region, to improve marketplace opportunities for diverse independent farmers, and to increase access for all consumers to healthy, locally-grown fresh produce. The acre of land next to the University of Minnesota’s agricultural school will serve as a food hub for a multi-farm CSA (Community Supported Agriculture), a food storage and aggregation location, a demonstration and teaching facility, and a place to explore further research in season extension and food sustainability.
On Friday, October 30th, you’re invited to celebrate the grand opening of The Good Acre food hub and education center. I hope you’ll consider attending to support this amazing organization and help welcome them to the Twin Cities. Between 1pm and 6pm, you can tour the facility, meet their farmers, listen bluegrass music, sample cider and snacks, and pet a farm animal or two!
