Homage to Gulf Seafood
Located in the Warehouse District, just down the street from the famed pork-centric Cochon and the adjacent sandwich shop and salumeria Butcher, Pêche Seafood Grill is the newest addition to chef/restaurateur Donald Link’s growing list of praise worthy restaurants in New Orleans. The show piece of this rustic-meets-modern seafood restaurant is the beautiful South American-style hearth and grill, where the fish and meat cook over roaring coals made from oak and pecan logs. The menu features small plates, snacks like hush puppies and shrimp toast, a great raw bar selection and plenty of fresh Gulf seafood. For a real treat, bring a few friends and get the whole grilled fish of the day, think whole speckled trout with charred onions and miso vinaigrette or whole redfish with salsa verde (trust me, no one does more justice to redfish than the folks at Pêche). And if you’re not convinced yet, just note that Pêche won two James Beard awards last year—Best New Restaurant and chef Ryan Prewitt won Best Chef: South.
