Japan is one of the most extraordinary food cultures on Earth. This summer, I’m hosting an unforgettable culinary journey through Japan. This isn’t tourism, this is total immersion in Japanese culture and tradition.
We begin in Tokyo, one of the greatest food cities in the world. We’ll explore markets, taste our way through neighborhoods, and dive into the flavors and traditions that define Japanese cuisine. One night I’m especially excited about is an intimate dinner at the restaurant of legendary chef Kiyomi Mikuni.
Then we board the elegant Mitsui Ocean Fuji. At sea, we’ll taste Japanese whisky and sake, explore sushi traditions, and experience the rituals behind tea and seasonal cuisine via menus inspired by Chef Mikuni.
Our journey takes us to Beppu, famous for its dramatic hot springs… to Busan, South Korea, where we’ll explore one of the great seafood markets of Asia and north to Akita and Aomori during festival season for the spectacular Kantō and Nebuta Festivals.
