Great Food Paired with Great Beer
The folks behind Surly Brewing Co. are geniuses. Their new-ish destination brewery is an architectural stunner, with a wood and metal adorned taproom, glass-enclosed brewing facility, and a massive patio with fire pits and the occasional live music act. If I drank, I would be there all the time. The downstairs menu highlights upscale bar food, such as an amazing charcuterie board, oven roasted trout and a host of barbecue meats and sides. Above the raucous beer hall is the 85-seat Brewer’s Table, where chef Jorge Guzman creates ambitious, beautiful dishes like rye tagliatelle with uni better and caraway togarashi and opakapaka crudo with cherries and pine, all with optional Surly beer pairings. It’s a winning combination.
