Exquisite Korean Barbecue

With the largest Korean population in the country outside of Los Angeles and New York City, it makes sense that Baltimore is home to great Korean restaurants. Just west of downtown in Ellicott City, you’ll find Shin Chon Garden, one of the top ten Korean barbecue joints in America. Expect a communal, interactive dining experience with fantastic galbi (short ribs) and bulgogi (thinly sliced beef) seared on a table-top grill and served with enough spicy-sour condiments and banchan (side dishes) to fill the entire table. The lengthy menu also highlights Korean mainstays such as bibimbap, monkfish stew and chili-and-salt marinated baby octopus. This place is no longer a well-kept secret, so you may have to fight the crowds for a table, but it’s worth it.
