• Frozen Mint-Basil Lemonade

By Andrew Zimmern

Simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and a handful basil and mint leaves make for the perfect lemonade. A simple and easy method that works perfectly every time!

Frozen Mint-Basil Lemonade

  • ¼ cup loose-packed Nature’s Basket organic mint leaves
  • ¼ cup loose-packed Nature’s Basket organic basil leaves
  • 6 cups ice
  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 cup Giant Eagle granulated sugar
  • ½ cup water

Combine the water and sugar over low heat in a saucepan, stirring until sugar is dissolved.

Let cool.

Pour this simple syrup into a sturdy mixer, add the remaining ingredients, and puree until homogenous and the herbs are fully incorporated. Serve.

I keep a small pitcher of warm water to induce the blending. Sometimes it’s needed and sometimes not, it depends on the blender, the size, the temperature of liquid ingredients, and so on.
