A New York City Classic

J. G. Melon is my favorite bar burger, bar none. All the fancy stuff can come and go, but this is the burger I grew up on, and it holds a special place in my heart. The restaurant may be adorned in watermelon decor and the service can be iffy, but for me (and millions of other adoring fans), none of that matters because that perfectly griddled burger served on a toasted bun with pickles and red onion is totally worth it. Order it with cottage fries and a spinach salad on the side. I try to get my fix every time I’m in New York, often calling the restaurant on the ride in from the airport and grabbing a burger and cottage fries to go.
