Two-Day Workshop for Professional Chefs
My friends Matt and Ted Lee are hosting a “Cookbook Boot Camp” in Charleston this January 14 & 15. If you want to produce a cookbook but need some guidance, these are the guys to turn to. They’re regular contributors to the New York Times, Food & Wine, Bon Appetit, Martha Stewart Living and Travel + Leisure. Plus, their cookbooks, The Lee Bros. Southern Cookbook and The Lee Bros. Simple Fresh Southern, have collectively won five James Beard and IACP Awards.
They’re constantly approached by chefs looking for advice on producing a cookbook, so they decided to put together this two-day seminar in which participants will shape a compelling kitchen vision and learn practical methods for communicating that vision to others. Prospective authors will participate in exercises and workshops designed to clarify what it is they want out of publishing a book and to help them map out a path toward publication. And what would a cookbook writing seminar be without a few choice field trips and meals? They’re keeping the group small, so expect a truly hands-on experience .
