Eat Pizza, Support Our Troops

I’ve created two new pizza recipes for UNO Chicago Grill, a Greek Isles Mediterranean-style pie and the creamy Artichoke Bianco. When you buy one of these custom pizzas (or any new family-size takeout pizza), UNO’s will donate 10 percent of each sale to Services for the UnderServed (SUS), a non-profit that supports veterans and others facing homelessness, unemployment, poverty and other life challenges. The family-size pizzas are available for take-out only through January 1, 2013.

As a member of the board of directors, I am committed to help SUS broaden their outreach and their capacity to meet the needs of those who serve. SUS provides direct support to veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan and their families, many of whom are homeless and live with co-occurring chronic mental illness, substance abuse disorders and serious health conditions. Over the last two years, SUS has tripled the number of veterans it serves, now providing more housing units and more homelessness prevention services than ever before. So there you have it, grab a takeout pizza on your way home and help support the cause.
