The Andrew Zimmern “Second Chances” Scholarship is part of the James Beard Foundation Scholarship program, and it offers a student faced with extreme challenges a “second chance” to overcome these hardships.

The International Rescue Committee

The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises and helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.

Hazelden-Betty Ford Foundation

The Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation provides a safe and supportive place to heal from drug and alcohol addiction. Treatment surrounds patients with a multi-disciplinary treatment team dedicated to recovery, and a holistic approach encompassing mind, body and spirit, treatment built on research and respect.

The Retreat

The mission of The Retreat is to improve the quality of life for individuals, families and communities affected by alcohol and drug dependency by providing affordable, effective educational services grounded in the Twelve Step principles of Alcoholics Anonymous.

Food Policy Action

Food Policy Action was established in 2012 through a collaboration of national food policy leaders in order to hold legislators accountable on votes that have an effect on food and farming. The organization’s goal is to change the national dialogue on food policy by educating the public on how elected officials are voting on these issues.

World Central Kitchen

José Andrés founded World Central Kitchen after the devastating 2010 earthquake in Haiti with the belief that food can be an agent of change. WCK expanded globally and have developed into a group of chefs creating smart solutions to hunger and poverty. Today, WCK uses the expertise of its Chef Network to empower people to be part of the solution, with a focus on health, education, jobs, and social enterprise.

Share Our Strength

No child should grow up hungry in America, but one in six children struggles with hunger. Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry campaign is ending child hunger in America by ensuring all children get the healthy food they need, every day.

Lovin’ Spoonfuls

A premiere food rescue organization based in Boston launched by Ashley Stanley, Lovin’ Spoonfuls is dedicated to facilitating the rescue and distribution of healthy, fresh food that would otherwise be discarded.

Appetite For Change uses food as a tool building health, wealth, and social change in North Minneapolis. AFC is a community-led organization that strengthens families, creates economic prosperity, and encourages healthy living.

Since 1978, SUS has worked with thousands of individuals and their families to create pathways to rich and productive lives by offering housing, employment, skills-building, treatment and rehabilitation.

Taste of the NFL

1 out of 6 people in our country face this serious issue – many of them are children and seniors. For more than 25 years, Taste of the NFL has been working to kick hunger. Taste of the NFL has raised more than $25 million during that time.
