America the Great Cookbook
I’m honored to be a part of America the Great Cookbook, a celebration of our country’s food scene with more than 100 recipes by chefs, producers and food heroes from every region of the United States. Flipping through the pages, you’ll notice that what makes America’s food American is its sheer diversity, formed by a long history of immigration. The collection of recipes and stories are inspired by a simple question: What do you cook for the people you love? The answers speak to the contributor’s broad range of influence and passion. From chef Michael Solomonov’s braised lamb shoulder to Rick Bayless’ roasted tomatillo enchiladas, I can’t wait to get into the kitchen and start cooking.
I chose to share my recipe for cold spicy peanut sesame noodles, a dish I loved as a child growing up in New York City that’s turned into a weekly ritual for my family. Good food is great, but food with a story is better, and that’s exactly what this cookbook delivers.
