Taco Talk
Experimenting with new taco fillings can be really fun and you don’t always have to use the traditional ground beef, chicken and pork fillings. In fact, read how one couple was inspired by LA's Kogi Korean BBQ truck to start their own business. They created their own version of the Korean taco.

Have you tried any new taco fillings?

If it looks good, deep fry it and put it on a stick!

Check out this slide show on Serious Eats.  It makes me think of the many trips my family and I take to the Minnesota State Fair every year in August. One thing I love about our fair is that everything is fried and on a stick!

Your team might be losing, but your stomach won't be!
Looks like some major-league baseball parks are drawing in fans by offering all-you-can-eat concessions. The buffets can vary in price and food, but fans are definitely getting a bang for their buck. You have to wonder how good buffet grub can be at a ballpark. Would you eat this way at the stadium?

Farmer's Market Low Down

There’s nothing sweeter than finding fresh fruits and vegetables at affordable prices, but with the large crowds and unfamiliar rules some people get a little intimidated by a farmer's market. The Huffington Post lists some general guidelines for market newbies.

Faux-organic?
Is the produce you’re buying really organic? According to a recent article published by the Associated Press, some farmers in California are selling non-organic produce with an organic label.  Read more to see how California plans to enforce stricter regulations on certified organic produce.

Beef Keeps Getting Better

We’ve all seen our fair share of over the top advertisements.  Take a look at this article I found in The Huffington Post about a billboard in North Carolina.  Driving home from work and sitting in traffic
would be torture!

Something Different for Your Steak
Grilling out with family and friends is one of the best parts about summer. Yesterday I was looking online for some new ways to liven up a steak and stumbled across this Deep Fried Finger Steaks recipe.  Although it’s not on the grill, it looks like a tasty party snack and the website says it’s “man tested.”

Hot Body Ice Cream

The ladies at the office loved this idea! If only I could look like that and eat ice cream at the same time.

Sugar Overload
This tasty looking concoction looks just as good as an old fashioned root beer float, a few drops of vanilla extract might just put it over the top.

Savory Candy

I’m diggin’ Michael Humes' witty blog, I especially love his Alinea's tasting menu feature with Jelly Beans.

Has anyone seen the new Burger King ad on tv? The slogan, "It's not that original" cracks me up.

Sugar Coma
Even though my family is celebrating Passover this week, we might just have to pick up one of these ostrich sized Reeses Eggs.

I'm always a sucker for fun gadgets that my little guy would love.  Check out this picnic table condiment set from  Uncommon Goods, just in time for the warm weather!

New Ben and Jerry's Flavor

A year ago, I stopped by Ben and Jerry's HQs on my Appetite for Life road trip. I was sworn to secrecy about the new flavors they were testing, and they've finally released what I feel might be the best B&J flavor yet: Peanut Brittle. It's packed with peanut-studded brittle pieces & a gooey caramel swirl. Salty, sweet, crunchy and just friggin' awesome. Check out the video here.

Oh, and by the way, tomorrow is their Free Cone Day, where regular peeps like you and me get a gratis cone from 12-8pm. Get yours!

Signs of [sex] Change in Cuba

I love Cuba. And I am jealous of their universal health care system, and despite the problems that lie behind the Palm Curtain (in a paradise prison for some Cubans), this story shows many signs of a change in the air for the country as a whole.

Cruise Ship Continues to Party in Haiti

Huff Po reporting this story-- further proof that morons are dangerous. The boat should have docked and dropped supplies, and those willing to volunteer should have been allowed to do so. Those not willing should have been taken off and transferred to another boat. This is like driving in a bus past a 40-car pile-up with massive fatalities and stopping long enough to take a pee break. Ridiculous.
