The Perfect Apple
I’ve been a huge fan of SweeTango apples ever since they came out a few years ago. It’s a juicy apple that has unique touch of spice with just the right honey finish, but they’re only around for a few months every year. To celebrate this “short & SweeTango season,” my crazy-talented chef pals at Animal Restaurant and Son of a Gun out in L.A., Vinny Dotolo and Jon Shook, created several seasonal recipes using SweeTango. The recipes are up on the SweeTango website, including this standout Hamachi crudo.
SweeTango apples is also celebrating its short season by giving away a trip for two to L.A., including a fabulous dinner at Animal. Animal Restaurant has been one of the hottest spots in L.A., for a while now. With adventurous cuts of meat and a focus on seasonal ingredients, it’s high on my list of places to go in L.A.
